It’s obvious that we’re proud of our recent success at the local AAF-GF ADDY Awards, but what does winning an ADDY mean? And what’s the competition like? If you’re still wondering, have no fear – we’re here to demystify the ADDY Awards. Basically, the ADDY Awards is an annual national advertising competition that is hosted by the American Advertising Federation (AAF). It is the world’s largest advertising competition, recognizing all forms of advertising, regardless of company size or notoriety. Three tiers make up the ADDY Awards: local, regional, and national. This past February, when our Freez King website design won “Best of Show” at the 2012 AAF-GF ADDY Awards, the distinction represented Greater Frederick, our designated local tier. At each level, any entry that’s awarded a gold ADDY or above advances to the next tier to compete on a larger scale. The next tier for us was the regional competition, AAF District 2. In April, our Freez King website design competed against entries from firms in Maryland, District of Columbia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. We were ecstatic when we were notified that the Freez King website had been awarded a Silver ADDY!
We’re very proud of our awards, and beyond that we’re very much involved in AAF happenings. Earlier this month Megan had the privilege of attending the Admerica 2012 AAF National Conference and the national AAF ADDY Awards in Austin, Texas. This conference brings together influential agencies, clients, media companies, suppliers, and colleges from across the country to address how to thrive in a recovering economy. As the AAF-GF vice president, Megan attended the conference on behalf of our local chapter to accept a Club Achievement Award in Communications. What an honor!
After an amazing trip to Texas, we’re back on the grind doing what we do best.
Cheers!
